Born in Wichita Kansas, Mollie has always been driven by Music, while even at the very young age of three she began to match pitch of anything on the radio that she heard. The pop and country music of the last generation has carried a heavy dose of influence, and Mollie has gravitated to these general genres. Her family has been committed to music venues, concerts and musicals which is where she first saw musicians and artists perform live and has been a great influence to her musical interests. Mollie announced to her family at age six she would be a singer / songwriter when she grew up.
At 8 years old she found herself winning singing competitions and performing in professional music theatre and loving it! She continued singing, playing guitar and piano and won her first national competition at 11 with the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. They invited her to sing the national anthem at their national convention in San Antonio, TX. She was thrilled to open the show with JEFF FOXWORTHY.
When Mollie was 9, she listened to a country recording documentary with her family and begged her family for a guitar so she could learn to play like the players in the show. Soon after that Mollie began performing at Elementary and Middle school assemblies and for friends, teachers and parties.
At age 10 and 11 she began frequenting local open stages for the Music Scene in Andover and on occasion with a local swing band. There she was exposed to an eclectic mix of folk, country, bluegrass and jazz music by locally known players.
At 12 Mollie released her first EP with four original songs. Three of the songs were written by songwriter Aaron Sidwell, top ten AMERICAN IDOL songwriter. Mollie wrote the fourth song, "INVINCIBLE". The song "WHEN YOU DREAM BIG" was written by Aaron for Mollie to support children in Nairobi, Kenya at Cheery Children Education Centre to have water filtration systems in their homes. All of the proceeds from the downloads of this song go to fund that project. To this date, Mollie has been able to provide over 20 families with water filters from this song!
One of Mollie's Mentors is RUSTY RIERSON. Rusty has been a blessing. He has provided insight to the industry, performance opportunities and complimented the development of Mollie's artistry. Rusty has been supportive of Mollie's passion since the day they met in Manhattan, Kansas when Mollie was 10. His influence has been an immeasurable component to her development. Mollie performed cover songs and original music with her guitar at multiple smaller venues with Rusty since age 12.
By age 13, Mollie was singing the National Anthem locally at Wichita State University, Kansas State University and the Kansas City Royals National Baseball league, a true honor and thrill to sing in front of 32,000 people. The players and staff were amazing and made her feel right at home! Mollie followed this performance with an opening National Anthem for CLINT BLACK and JOHN MICHAEL MONTGOMERY at a Concert in Andover Kansas.
Mollie has been blessed with wonderful opportunities at such a young age. She is working on writing more songs and has just released on itunes her second original, "CHRIST IS HERE".
Although Mollie currently resides in Wichita, KS, her dream is to live in Nashville, TN. Her eyes are focused on Belmont University and has hopes of spending more time there when she turns 18. She loves to perform music in the genres of country, jazz, and Christian.
